Thamar’s Sweet Potato Unleavened Bread

This moist unleavened bread is simple and satisfying!


  • 1 stick of butter

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 sweet potato, baked and cooled

  • 1/2 cup 2% milk

  • 1 cup all purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)


  • Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature.
  • Combine butter, sugar and eggs in a mixer or bowl and beat until smooth.
  • Add sweet potato, milk, and flour in rotation, small amounts at a time until each are incorporated.
  • Add vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg until combined if desired.
  • Pour batter into a pan and bake at 300 degrees for 45 minutes or until a toothpick can be inserted into the middle and come out clean.
  • Remove bread, allow to cool and enjoy!!
